2005 TREATMENT AND LIFE SAVING CHOICES

Initially I went for homeopathic treatment, I was given remedies to deal with the trauma of diagnosis, I am still amazed at how immediate the effects of the remedies were, after more than a week of going to bed with a great sense of dread and waking up each morning in tears, I went to bed feeling the heaviness of my situation and woke up without tears and I felt able to face the day. I started on the Ramakrishna plussing program to deal with the cancer. Prior to going into hospital I was given remedies to help pre and post operation. I didn't need any pain killers following the operation the homeopathy worked very well; I had a little discomfort but no pain. I also felt optimistic, having a certainty that all would turn out well.

Once I was discharged I went to stay with my friends in London , I now needed lots of support to get me through the ne6xt part of my treatment and recovery. I did an intensive detox program using an American company to provide the herbs to cleanse my liver, kidneys and colon. My time table for 4 weeks was herbal drinks and teas along with organic raw food meals and lots of juicing of mainly carrots and leafy green vegetables. I also carried on with my Homeopathic plussing treatment too. At first I was quite over whelmed with such an intensive program I was getting up at around 6.30am the program instructions said to finish around 10pm, I just couldn't fit it all in until well after midnight for the first week. Once I became more familiar with the routine I did manage to get finished between 10 and 11pm each night. After a couple of weeks I even fitted in going to Yoga classes, I enjoyed attending and I found it very helpful for relaxation.

When I finished the detox I naturally had some much needed weight loss, I had been putting weight on for a number of years and prior to being diagnosed I had also started to have problems with fluid retention, aching joints breathlessness and a general loss of vitality. The detox truly did clear away all these problems, I was fitter and healthier than I'd been for years, I felt positive about the future I was ready to get back into life. I returned home on a high, I still maintained a diet of mainly organic raw food, with some cooked brown rice and vegetables included. I gave up wheat and dairy products. I included oily fish once a week and two eggs per week into my diet. I carried on with juicing at least twice a day and more often when I could fit it in. I went for regular walks, I gave up alcohol and cleared my house as much as I could, of chemically overloaded cleaning products, I started using more environmental friendly products, (I had sometimes used products like these before but always used the excuse that they were too expensive and not as strong as my regular products!).

I changed my lifestyle, I was doing what I always said I'd do with my life once I had the time. I used the cancer as a turning point to move away from unhealthy unsustainable habits. While I was in London I met up with someone who I met through the Crossroads Women's Centre some years back, she was now living in a place called Orgiva in Spain . I was very excited to hear that there was a thriving community of raw foodies there, she invited me over to stay with her to get more info and contacts in the raw food community. Also it would be a great place to get some good mountain air and take time out for healing. In November I travelled across to Spain and spent three weeks in Orgiva with Jasbir. I found out lots of new ways to prepare and use raw food, I got lots of inspiration from the people I met and felt invigorated from having a much needed break away. 2005 ended, I was happier and healthier and feeling positive about life. I had started to make major changes in my life, 2006 was going to be a great year!
